Possible future advantages of Revit include 3D printing full scale Revit models, energy analysis incorporation, robotic installation of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building components, increase project collaboration between different disciplines, fix clashes automatically using AI, better cost analysis, labor cost estimates using factors such as union rates, more user friendly API, embedded geotechnical surveying that can be imported, and inform the user of code violations.

Organizational/social changes that will come with BIM use

Less mistakes will arise on the construction site, shorter project design and construction times, require Revit experience, and engineers/architects will have a greater understanding of other discipline's roles in their projects.
